Amazing tour with Roy! Did the cango caves and Ostrich farm tour combination and loved every bit of it. Roy is full of stories and energy! Also bonus points for his flexibility. Because i choose the adventure part in the caves, we were not going to make the 11 o'clock timeslot at the Ostrich farm and had to go for the 12 o'clock timeslot. Instead of just waiting we decided to walk around town and Roy told lot's of stories about the history of the village and the buildings. The Ostrich farm was also really fun. You learn about the Ostriches and get to feed them as well.
Thanks Roy for an amazing tour and i would hightly recommend anyone to join Roy on one of his tours or just to message him if you're looking for something specific 🙂
Very nice tour. Everything we asked for. From creche to a primary school. We saw how perseverance of a few people can make a difference in sometimes a hard world. Would recommend it.

A fantastic guide with extensive knowledge of Oudtshoorn's history and the era of ostrich feathers. The bike tour through the town center was enjoyable and easygoing, packed with interesting information. I highly recommend this tour with Roy – it gave me a great overview of Oudtshoorn. Five stars!

We had been road tripping in the small towns and villages of the Cape for several weeks and arrived in Oudtshoorn known for it's ostriches and caves. However, it was obvious from the architecture that there is considerable history here, so we signed up for a walking heritage tour with RJ tours, and met Roydin at 8am on the main street (we would recommend an early start in the summer as it gets very hot, very quickly). We started with St Judes church and the fascinating background of Sophy Gray, wife of the first Anglican bishop in Cape Town, who was a traveller, administrator and architect of numerous churches back in the 1800s. There were enchanting anecdotes from within but also from outside the church. We then went on to the so-called "ostrich palaces" and the history of Oudtshoorn as a "white gold" boomtown in the form of feathers. This included Mimosa lodge where we were fortunate enough to meet the doyenne of all things heritage, Hazel, who is retiring and handing over the reigns, to amongst others, Roydin. A welcome coffee stop at Beans about Coffee was delicious and further stops including several places of worship and high street beauties (and monstrosities). This tour gave us great insight into this town, it's people and it's history and Roydin is a brilliant tour guide. In addition, he is a warm, genuine and inspiring young man who was a pleasure to meet. Don't miss out on this eye opening experience. It is engaging and over before you know it, with the only effort required being to listen and imagine.

I had a really great time with Roy. The hike in the Mountains was beautiful and I really enjoyed Roy's company. He is incredibly dedicated, and we talked about the nature, the animals, his community in Outdshoorn, all while walking in a incredible scenery. I hope to come back to Oudtshoorn one day and do another tour with him.

My wife and I first heard about RJ Tours on the radio while driving to the KKNK Oudtshoorn festival, and we decided to book the Heritage Walking Tour. What an amazing experience it was! Our guide, Royden, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Oudtshoorn’s rich history and culture. He shared fascinating stories about the town’s heritage and made the tour both informative and engaging. The walking tour allowed us to truly connect with the local community and appreciate the beautiful architecture and landmarks. We highly recommend RJ Tours for anyone wanting an authentic and memorable exploration of Oudtshoorn. Thank you, Royden, for such a wonderful experience!
